So this is the galaxy s20 fe design wise it fits right in with the rest of the s20 family it's got the same looks great in hand feel although at 190 grams it's a bit on the heavier side of things now one of the areas where samsung has cut some corners is with the materials used so this ain't a glass sandwich protected by gorilla glass 6. instead we have samsung's favorite plastic back on the plus side of things the s20 fe sports a frosted finish that's pretty resistant to smudges as well as fingerprints as for the color well samsung has a whole host of options for us to choose from and personally i really like the cloud pink one that we have here even the sides have a matching shade of pink which is very nice attention to detail up front we have a gorgeous amoled panel from Samsung with minimal bezels and a tiny punch hole for the 32 megapixel selfie snapper yes this is the highest megapixel front facing camera that we have ever seen on a series phone it takes some sharp looking selfies with natural skin tones when it comes to screen real estate the s20 fe slides right in between the s20 and s20 plus with a 6.5 inch full hd plus infinity o panel now as far as displays go samsung is the best in the business just like csk for ipl you know anyway jokes about this panel has everything we expect from a top notch display rich colors deep amoled blacks and amazing contrast of course there are some corners cut here as well the first being this is a flat panel now samsung has anyway decreased the curvature of the s20 lineup this year so i don't really think this is a big deal at all the second one though is resolution unlike the rest of the s20 range the s20 fe can only go up to full had plus so no 2k option here but given that we only get 2k 60 hertz or full hd 120 hertz with their series i would much more prefer the latter well i'm perfectly happy with the compromises that Samsung has made after all at 120 hertz one ui on the s20 fe feels butter smooth that's because powering those pixels is the latest and greatest from Samsung the exynos 990 now this is the same flagship chip that we can find in the s and note 20 series and since this time samsung isn't reallyasking flagship prices i'm perfectly fine with the Exynos ship instead of the more powerful snapdragon 865 after all it's not like we can notice any frame drops or slowdowns with the exynos 990 and in my time with this s20 fe it held up really well for everything from swiping through social media to multitasking between chrome and google docs the latter being powered by six or eight gigs of ram which accompanied by the 128 or 256 gigs of internal storage that we have on board the s20 fe samsung also provides room for external storage expansion although that comes at the cost of a second sim card yep unfortunately the s20 fe comes with a hybrid sim slot we can find that on the top edge of the phone along with a secondary microphone as for the rest of the placements we have the power and volume keys to the right while the left is left empty no pun intended as for the bottom that's where we find the mic the loudspeaker and the type-c port yeah just like with the s20 series we don't get a 3.5 mm headphone jack here the stereo speakers will make a return and i have to say i really like how this sound the great speakers fast refresh rate combined with the 11 core mali g77 gpu should make for an awesome gaming experience we tried out ace force combat evolved and thanks to the increased touch response rate manoeuvring around in the sky or simply swiping around to get a lock on an enemy plane felt that much more fast and responsive moving on to our battery life we have a 4000mah battery in here basically the same capacity as the one on the s20 plus with that being said we have the same exynos 990 sse coupled with a smaller 6.5-inch screen on the s20 fe so i expect battery life to be slightly better than the s20 plus when it comes to charging we have 25-watt fast charging on board and samsung includes the charger in the box we also do get wireless charging as well as wireless reverse charging capabilities on board so samsung here hasn't skipped out on the hardware and the software too is flagship grade we get the full fat one ui 2.5 experience here along with marquee features like decks and even wireless decks being present and accounted for when it comes to securities we have an under the display fingerprint scanner it works quite well and so does the face unlock now the flagship experience even translates into the cameras where we get features like single take but hey I'm getting a bit ahead of myself here let me show you guys the cameras so we have a triple camera set up to the rear the primary is a 12-megapixel shooter with an f 1.8 lens as expected shots from it come out looking great we get punchy colors with excellent dynamic range and good details and that carries over to the night mode shots as well bright looking snaps with decent detail levels we also get a 12-megapixel ultrawide snapper and I have to commend samsung for nailing the color signs here the colors of the image they're no different from the primary we also return the high dynamic range and overall the pictures look quite nice finally we have an 8-megapixel telephoto camera this one can go up to 3x optical and up to 30x digital zoom so not quite as good as the note 20 ultra 50x space zoom but it gets the job done when it comes to video capture the s20 fe can shoot at 4k 60 fps and once more the footage looks really good what's interesting here is that even the selfie camera can record at 4k 60 frames per second, of course, it misses out on 8k capture that's only for the flagships right now but we do get all the remaining features including super slow-mo portrait video or as samsung calls it live focus video so overall these are an impressive set of cameras and honestly the s20 fe is an impressive phone it brings most of the features that we love in the s series like the 120-hertz amoled panel the different camera modes software features like wireless decks and combines them with a sizeable battery and top of the line hardware yes there are some features missing but they aren't ones that would make me feel like i'm missing out on a flagship experience so now all that remains to be seen is where samsung prices it after all the s20 in india begin from 70 000 rupis so if samsung manages to price the fv somewhere around 50 to 55 000 rupees it would be a stiff competition to flagships from brands like oneplus and asus.
